Entertainment
Performers entertaining over the next few weeks include:
Brad Russell Band (May 5)
The Brad Russell Band brings its own brand of music to the masses: Ronky-tonk. They blend classic country, honky tonk, southern rock, and the blues. Their debut album was recorded at Fort Worth Sound, and Brad states that he speaks more through six strings and four fingers than his vocal cords. The band's repertoire includes "Fly," "Looking Back in Time," and "A Million Miles from Home."
Anna Stockdale (May 23)
When Anna Stockdale was eight, she taught herself to play the guitar. Years later during a summer internship in Wyoming, she took inspiration from the landscape and cowboy-rich history and began writing songs and performing. In 2016, Anna won the Top of the Pines Songwriter Contest, and today she entertains fans across Texas. Tunes include "The Pioneer," "Still Standing," and "The War Hymn."
Justin Tipton (Wednesday residency)
Justin Tipton became passionate about music after discovering old-time country artists such as Guy Clark and Steve Earle. He liked that the songs had meaning, and has been writing his own tunes for over a decade. Justin played his first gig in front of his family and friends in 2012, and never looked back. His setlist includes "Better Off Alone," "Train to Memphis," and "Gimme Back What's Mine."
