Enjoy a Meal at a Restaurant Featured on Diners, Drive-ins, & Dives
If you watch the Food Network, you've probably traveled across America with Guy Fieri in search of the country's best Diners, Drive-ins & Dives. His convertible has parked outside several local restaurants, and those near our Dallas high rise apartments include:
One90 Smoked Meats
What was once a backyard concept is now a tiny shop famous from coast to coast. One90 takes its name from the perfect internal temperature for smoking brisket. It offers the best smoked meat in town, and owner Kyle St. Clair perfected the smoking process while finishing his law school degree. One90 provides communal counter seating, and strangers often leave as friends. For dinner, Guy recommends the spicy brisket sandwich. It features shaved beef, mayo, Monterey Jack cheese, and smoked paprika grilled onions.
Tutta's
Step into Tutta's to enjoy pizza, music, and beer. Local art adorns the walls, and guests can belt out tunes during karaoke and open mic nights. Regional musicians also take to the stage, making Tutta's a West End destination you don't want to miss. While in the kitchen, Guy stated, "It's barbeque, it's pizza, it's barbeque on pizza." He and owner Jeremy Scott prepared the mouthwatering Texan pie. This customer favorite features barbecue sauce, smoked brisket, red onions, pepperoncini, and mozzarella cheese.
Whistle Britches
When Whistle Britches opened in 2016, it quickly earned nominations for "Best New Restaurant" from Culture Map and D Magazine. Chef Omar Flores grew up in the kitchen and later honed his skills at the Culinary Institute of America. He was named one of the best chefs in DFW in 2012, and today he enjoys bringing a chicken, biscuit, and beer concept to Dallas. On Diners, Drive-ins & Dives, Guy joined Chef Omar in the kitchen to prepare Hot Dang. This chicken and waffles sandwich is a local favorite and includes Nashville-style hot chicken, dill ranch, and bread & butter pickles.
