Get immersed in nature at this stunning spot that's located only 18 minutes away. The Oak Cliff Nature Preserve Trail is within the Dallas city borders, but it feels like a true escape from the hustle and bustle. There are 120 acres of beautiful woods and meadows to explore, including 8 miles of dirt trails that are ideal for hiking and biking. The trail is also shady and mostly flat, which makes this lush area accessible for hikers at every level.
Santa Fe Trail
This spacious, 12-foot wide path is perfect for enjoying a long walk or run while surrounded by lush trees and wide meadows. You also get unique views of East Dallas, including interesting landmarks like an antique bridge. The Santa Fe trail is flat and paved with concrete, which makes it a smooth and easygoing bike ride. While the path itself is 5 miles long, you can easily extend the journey by connecting to adjoining trails.
Lakeside Park
This beloved urban park offers 14 beautifully-landscaped acres that meander alongside Turtle Creek. Lakeside Park is perfect for going for a run or leisurely stroll on its paved paths. Check out the whimsical stone statues of teddy bears and cross the bridge over the Turtle Creek Dam.
