Spend a Fun-filled Day at Dallas' Texas Discovery Gardens

Nestled in historic Fair Park, the Texas Discovery Gardens is an urban oasis filled with natural wonders. It stretches 7.5 acres and wants every visitor to leave with the knowledge to use sustainable practices at home. The gardens are just a short drive from our Dallas apartments, and you'll find much to see and do. Here is some of what you can discover during your visit:

Snakes of Texas

Called a must-see exhibit, the Snakes of Texas highlights venomous and non-venomous native snakes in a safe environment. As you explore, you'll learn an array of fascinating facts. The display covers their different sizes, how they help our ecosystem, and so much more.

The Gardens

Walk around the lush gardens to see some of the prettiest flowers in town. They're full of both native plants and species from around the world that have adapted to the soils and challenging climate of North Texas. You can bring a picnic basket and a blanket and enjoy a meal surrounded by natural beauty. The gardens are open Wednesday through Sunday, from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Rosine Smith Sammons Butterfly House and Insectarium

Step inside the Butterfly House, where you'll instantly be transported to the natural habitat of hundreds of free-flying butterflies. Along with learning about these fluttering creatures, you can also see the emergence chamber. It allows visitors to enjoy an up-close look at the moth cocoons and butterfly chrysalises. You may even see some emerge.

After visiting the gardens, stop by a local restaurant for some of the tastiest chicken in Dallas. If you are considering calling Cirque home, please contact us. Our friendly leasing team would love to arrange a private tour where you can see the amenities our community has to offer.
